The owner of Curran Cabinetry & Design, Allen Curran, began his career at Bella Domicile in 1984. He earned Certified Kitchen Designer accreditation from the National Kitchen and Bath Association in 1996 and became an accredited Wisconsin Registered Interior Designer the following year.
Allen was elected to serve two terms as president and is a long time board member of the local chapter of NARI, the National Association of the Remodeling Industry.
Awards & Recogition
- Allen has earned four first-place, four second-place and one third-place design award in the NKBA Wisconsin Chapter’s “Dreams to Reality Design Contest” for kitchens, baths and other rooms.
- Allen achieved an honorable mention in the 2006 NARI of Madison Contractor of the Year awards for an entry that earned a perfect score from all judges in the category of kitchen remodeling projects from $30,000 – $60,000.
- Signature Kitchens & Baths magazine, which specializes in innovative trends in the kitchen and bath industry, has published over a half-dozen of Allen’s projects.
- Medallion Cabinetry named Allen one of its top 30 designers for 2007, a select group chosen from more than 1,000 kitchen and bath dealerships nationwide.
- In 2008, Allen received the prestigious Professionalism Award and Image Award from the Madison Chapter of NARI for his respected standing in the remodeling industry.
- In 2009, Allen earned team CotY awards in two categories: Residential Universal Design for creating a kitchen accessible to a wheelchair-bound homeowner, and Commercial Interior for a local showroom's reception desk and multiple workspaces. Allen took first place in each category in local and regional competition.
- In 2012, Allen received the NARI of Madison Achievement – Leadership Award and in 2013 he received the Lifetime Achievement Award The “Fritz”
- In 2014 and 2015, Curran Cabinetry & Design earned the NARI ACE Award for Achievement in Consumer Excellence.
- In 2015, Allen was awarded a team CotY award in the Interiors Category under $75,000 which went on to win the Regional CotY award as well.
- In 2016, Allen won a team CotY award in the Interiors Category under $75,000 that won a Regional CotY award was selected for the National CotY award in April.
- Again in 2017, Allen was awarded a team CotY award in the Entire House $250,000 to $500,000 Category.

Everything was done to the highest standard--design, the inevitable design changes, equipment orders, furniture delivery, and on-site supervision. As the project proceeded and changes became necessary, Curran worked with us to solve problems and keep the project on-track and on-budget. The end result is a wall knocked down, two smallish rooms joined into a beautiful open-plan kitchen, and a much more habitable home.
